Laos 1951 First Postage Stamp Issue
Laos · 1951 · 10 Cents
This stamp features the That Luang, a large gold-covered Buddhist stupa in the center of Vientiane, Laos. It is generally regarded as the most important national monument in Laos and a national symbol. This was part of the very first set of postage stamps issued by the Kingdom of Laos.
Issued in 1951, this stamp marks the establishment of Laos's own postal service, following its status as an associated state within the French Union and moving towards full independence.
