Laos 1952 Postage Due Souvenir Sheet
Laos · 1952 · 100 Kip
This souvenir sheet features a single 100 Kip postage due stamp. The design prominently displays the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Laos, which includes the three-headed elephant Erawan under a white parasol, flanked by two revered parasols. The sheet's selvage contains inscriptions in both Lao and French.
Issued in 1952, this was the first souvenir sheet released by the Kingdom of Laos, which had recently gained increased autonomy within the French Union. Postage due stamps were used to collect insufficient postage from the recipient of a letter.
