Slovenia 1992 Coat of Arms
Slovenia · 1992 · 1.00 SIT
This definitive stamp features the newly adopted coat of arms of the Republic of Slovenia. The design showcases a shield with Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, represented by three white peaks, with two wavy blue lines below symbolizing the Adriatic Sea and local rivers. Three golden six-pointed stars, arranged in an inverted triangle above the peaks, are taken from the coat of arms of the Counts of Celje.
Issued shortly after Slovenia declared independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, this stamp was part of the first definitive series using the new national currency, the Slovenian tolar (SIT), and symbolized the country's new sovereignty.
