Laos Postage Due Stamps, 1969
Laos · 1969 · Various (10k, 20k, 30k, 40k, 50k, 100k, 200k, 500k)
This set of eight stamps from the Kingdom of Laos features two distinct designs for postage due purposes. The first six stamps (Scott 184-189) display the denomination numeral prominently within an ornate, traditional Laotian frame. The final two stamps (Scott C56-C57) are airmail postage due, indicated by a stylized bird wing alongside the numeral, also set within a decorative border.
Issued by the Royal Lao Government during the Laotian Civil War, these stamps reflect the need for specialized postal services, including collecting underpaid postage, even amidst national conflict.
