This set of three stamps features a portrait of King Ang-Duong, who reigned Cambodia from 1841 to 1860. Each stamp includes his birth and death years (1795-1860) and is accompanied by traditional Cambodian royal regalia or motifs.
King Ang-Duong is remembered for his efforts to modernize Cambodia and protect its sovereignty during a period of intense pressure from neighboring Siam (Thailand) and Vietnam. His reign laid some groundwork for the later French Protectorate.
