This entry represents the various postage stamps issued by the individual states on the Italian peninsula before the unification into the Kingdom of Italy. These states included Sardinia, Tuscany, Naples, Sicily, the Papal States, and others, each with their own unique designs, currencies, and postal systems.

Prior to the Risorgimento culminating in the creation of the Kingdom of Italy in 1861, the Italian peninsula was a collection of separate kingdoms, duchies, and papal territories, many of which issued their own stamps starting in the 1850s.
