This octagonal, cut-to-shape stamp features a profile portrait of Queen Victoria in blue on a red background. It is from the fourth printing and is neatly cancelled with a diamond of dots postmark, showing an inverted watermark.
Part of India's first adhesive stamp issue, the 4 Annas is notable as one of the world's first bi-color stamps and a significant piece of British Indian postal history.
