This definitive stamp features a three-quarter portrait of King George V of Great Britain, facing left, in an Admiral's uniform. It is overprinted in Gaelic script with 'Rialtas Sealadach na hÉireann 1922' (Provisional Government of Ireland 1922). This series of overprints on British stamps marked the establishment of the Irish Free State.
