10 Centimes Emergency Money Token, Aux Dames de France
France · 1920 · 10 centimes
A circular gilded metal token featuring a central paper insert. The insert is typographically printed with '10c' and 'Aux Dames de France' within a decorative border.
This token served as emergency currency, known as 'monnaie de nécessité', issued by the prominent 'Aux Dames de France' department store around 1920. Such private issues were common in France during periods of currency shortage, particularly in the aftermath of World War I.
