France 10 centimes Postal Currency (Waterman Pen)
France · 1920 · 10 centimes
A 10 centimes French Sower stamp encased in a circular aluminum holder, used as emergency currency. The visible side shows the Marianne Sower design, while the reverse (not shown) features an advertisement for Waterman Ideal fountain pens.
This item represents a form of emergency currency (monnaie de nécessité) issued in France around 1920, when small denomination coinage was scarce after World War I. These postal currency pieces often served a dual purpose, providing change while also carrying advertisements.
