Albania 1921 Overprint Issue
Albania · 1921 · Various (10q, 25q, 50q, 1f, 2f, 5f)
This set of six stamps features a black overprint of the double-headed eagle and the year '1921' on definitive stamps from 1914. The original stamps depicted Prince Wilhelm of Wied and the Albanian coat of arms. The overprint updated these stamps for use by the new government following the turmoil of World War I.
Issued during a period of political instability after World War I, these overprints reflect Albania's efforts to establish a stable government and postal system under the High Council of Regency.
