Rhodesia Southern 1924 King George V Admiral Issue
Southern Rhodesia · 1924 · 1d
This definitive stamp features a portrait of King George V in his Admiral of the Fleet uniform, facing left. The design, known as the 'Admiral' type, was widely used across the British Empire. The country name 'SOUTHERN RHODESIA' is inscribed at the top, with the denomination '1d' (one penny) at the bottom.
Issued in 1924, this was the first postage stamp of Southern Rhodesia, following its establishment as a self-governing British Crown Colony the previous year. It replaced the stamps of the British South Africa Company.
