Cape of Good Hope Triangular Issue
Cape of Good Hope · 1853 · 1d & 4d
The first stamps issued by the Cape of Good Hope are famously known as the 'Cape Triangles' due to their distinctive shape. The design features a seated allegorical figure of Hope with an anchor and a vine. The initial issue consisted of a one penny value in brick-red and a four pence value in blue.
