Indochina Tourist Sites Series

Indochina · 1950 · Various

This series of five stamps showcases prominent tourist and cultural sites across French Indochina. The designs feature the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, the One Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi, the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, the That Luang stupa in Vientiane, and the Tomb of Khai Dinh in Hue.

Issued in 1950 by the French colonial administration, this set promoted tourism and highlighted the cultural heritage of the region just as the First Indochina War was escalating, leading to the eventual dissolution of French Indochina.
