James A. Farley Souvenir Sheet
United States of America · 1934 · 3¢
This souvenir sheet features six imperforate 3-cent stamps depicting James A. Farley, who was Postmaster General at the time. The sheet is inscribed 'IN COMPLIMENT TO THE AMERICAN PHILATELIC SOCIETY FOR ITS CONVENTION AND EXHIBITION' and 'ATLANTIC CITY, N. J., AUGUST, 1934'.
Known as 'Farley's Follies', these were special imperforate, ungummed printings of recent commemorative stamps given by Postmaster General James Farley to friends and officials. Public outcry led to the reissue of these stamps in sheet form for sale to the public.
