A black stamp featuring a portrait of Andrew Jackson, the seventh U.S. President, with 'U.S. POSTAGE' at the top and 'TWO CENTS' at the bottom.
Known as the 'Black Jack', this stamp was part of the 1861-1866 series issued during the American Civil War, replacing earlier designs to prevent their use by the Confederacy. It was the first U.S. stamp to feature Andrew Jackson.
