A 1 cent documentary revenue stamp featuring a battleship design, with 'INTERNAL REVENUE' and 'ONE CENT' inscribed. The stamp is rouletted and bears a handstamp cancellation from 1900.

Issued in 1898, this revenue stamp helped fund the Spanish-American War, following a similar use during the American Civil War. Its reintroduction was prompted by the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine.
