King George V Definitives, Kenya, Uganda & Tanganyika
Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika · 1922 · 1 Shilling
This definitive stamp features a left-facing portrait of King George V in his Admiral of the Fleet uniform, set within an ornate frame. The inscription 'KENYA AND UGANDA' appears at the top, with 'POSTAGE & REVENUE' below, and the denomination '1s' in the bottom corners.
Issued for use in the British colonies of Kenya and Uganda, this series replaced the stamps of the East Africa and Uganda Protectorates. Tanganyika was added to the inscription in 1922 after it became a British mandate.
