This set of three stamps commemorates the inauguration of the East African Community (EAC) headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. The designs feature the EAC headquarters building, the flags of the three member nations (Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania), and the EAC emblem. Each stamp represents a different aspect of the community's establishment.
Issued to mark the opening of the headquarters for the first East African Community, an intergovernmental organization established in 1967 to foster economic, social, and political cooperation between Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The original EAC dissolved in 1977 but was revived in 2000.
