Slovenia Coat of Arms, Definitive Issue
Slovenia · 1992 · 1 SIT
This definitive stamp features the national coat of arms of Slovenia. The design includes a shield with Mount Triglav, the country's highest peak, represented by three white peaks, with two wavy blue lines below symbolizing the Adriatic Sea and local rivers. Three golden six-pointed stars, arranged in an inverted triangle, are positioned above the peaks, taken from the coat of arms of the Counts of Celje.
Issued in 1992, this stamp was part of the first definitive series released by Slovenia following its declaration of independence from Yugoslavia in June 1991. The adoption of the new coat of arms and its depiction on postage was a significant step in establishing national identity.
