Singapore · 1945 · 1c
This postage due stamp features a simple, functional design with the large numeral '1' and the word 'CENT' prominently displayed in the center. The design is framed with decorative elements, and the text 'SINGAPORE' and 'POSTAGE DUE' are inscribed at the top and bottom, respectively. The stamp was printed on chalk-surfaced paper with a multiple script CA watermark.
Issued after the liberation of Singapore from Japanese occupation at the end of World War II, these stamps were part of the British Military Administration (BMA) series and were used to collect insufficient postage from recipients.
