Sudan Postage Due Stamp
Sudan · 1902 · 1m
This is the first postage due stamp issued by Sudan, then under Anglo-Egyptian administration. The design is purely typographic, featuring the denomination '1 MILLIEME' prominently in the center, framed by ornate scrollwork. The inscriptions 'SUDAN' and 'POSTAGE DUE' are clearly visible at the top and bottom, respectively.
Issued in 1902, this stamp reflects the establishment of a formal postal system in Anglo-Egyptian Sudan. Postage due stamps were used to collect payment from the recipient for mail sent with insufficient postage.
