This stamp, known as the 'Chainbreaker', is the first issue for the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia). The allegorical design depicts a man breaking free from chains, symbolizing liberation and the unification of the South Slavic peoples after World War I. The design was created by the Slovenian artist Ivan Vavpotič.

Issued in 1918 for use in Slovenia and Croatia, this stamp marks the formation of the new state following the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the end of World War I.
