New Zealand 1963 Health Stamps
New Zealand · 1963 · 2½d+1d & 3d+1d
This set of two semi-postal stamps was issued to raise funds for children's health camps. The 2½d+1d stamp depicts a young boy running, while the 3d+1d stamp shows a girl performing a high jump. The '+1d' surcharge on each stamp was the donation portion for the health camps.
New Zealand's annual Health stamp issues began in 1929 and became a long-standing tradition to support children's health services. The 1963 issue continued this popular series, focusing on youth and athletic activity.
