Nigeria 1937 Coronation Issue
Nigeria · 1937 · 1d, 2½d, 4d
This set of three stamps commemorates the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The design features a dual portrait of the new monarchs, with King George VI on the left and Queen Elizabeth on the right, set within an ornate frame. The country name 'NIGERIA' is inscribed at the top, with the denomination at the bottom.
Issued as part of a British Commonwealth omnibus series, these stamps marked the accession of King George VI to the throne following the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, in late 1936.
