Malaysia Definitive Series - State Rulers and Flowers
Malaysia · 1965 · 10 sen
This definitive stamp features a dual portrait of Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah of Terengganu and his consort, Tengku Ampuan Intan Zaharah. To the right of the portraits is a depiction of the Renanthera, a species of orchid, representing the state flower. The stamp is part of a larger series showcasing the rulers and flora of Malaysia's various states.
Issued in 1965, this series celebrated the individual identities of the states within the newly formed Federation of Malaysia, which was established in 1963. Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah would later become the fourth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia in 1965.
