This set of three stamps commemorates the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The design features a portrait of the young Queen by Dorothy Wilding, set against a solid background with the Maltese Cross, St. Edward's Crown, and the denomination. The stamps were printed by Harrison & Sons.

Issued across the British Commonwealth, this omnibus series celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's ascension to the throne on June 2, 1953. At the time, Malta was a British Crown Colony, gaining independence in 1964.
