Burma 1 Anna Queen Victoria, 1854

This is the first postage stamp issued for use in Burma under British rule. The design features a simple, diademed portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, enclosed within a rectangular frame with ornate corners. The denomination 'ONE ANNA' is inscribed at the bottom, with 'POSTAGE' at the top.

Issued during the period of British India, this stamp was used in Lower Burma following the Second Anglo-Burmese War. It represents the beginning of the formal postal system in the region under British administration.
