Morocco · 1914 · 10 Centimes
This stamp features a central design of a winged globe, symbolizing global communication and travel, flanked by a caduceus, the staff of Hermes, representing commerce and negotiation. The denomination is prominently displayed, and the country name 'MAROC' is inscribed at the top. This was the first general issue for the French Protectorate of Morocco.
Issued in 1914, two years after the Treaty of Fes established the French Protectorate, this stamp series replaced the various French offices abroad issues previously used in the region.
