10th Anniversary of the Latvian SSR

This set of six stamps commemorates the 10th anniversary of the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic. The designs feature various symbols of the republic's progress under Soviet rule, including its coat of arms, industrial scenes with factories, agricultural imagery of a collective farm, the Government House in Riga, and a portrait of Vladimir Lenin.

Issued in 1950, these stamps mark a decade since Latvia's annexation by the Soviet Union in 1940. They served as propaganda to celebrate the integration of Latvia into the USSR and its supposed economic and social achievements.
