Laos 1952 Postage Due Stamp

Laos · 1952 · 100 K

This is the first postage due stamp issued by the Kingdom of Laos. The design features a large numeral '100' indicating the amount due, with 'TIMBRE-TAXE' (Postage Due) inscribed above and 'ROYAUME DU LAOS' (Kingdom of Laos) below. The stamp is printed in a distinctive red-brown color.

Issued shortly after Laos gained semi-autonomy within the French Union in 1949, this stamp represents the establishment of its independent postal administration.
