This set of two stamps was issued to celebrate the New Year. The first stamp (Scott #547) depicts a young boy in traditional Korean attire playing with a top. The second stamp (Scott #548) shows a young girl, also in traditional dress, flying a kite.
Issued in the mid-1960s, these stamps reflect a period of growing national identity and cultural pride in South Korea during its rapid economic development.
