This set of three stamps commemorates the opening of the East African Community (EAC) headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. The designs feature the EAC headquarters building, the national flags of the three member states (Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania), and the EAC emblem. The stamps were issued jointly by the three countries.

Issued in 1973, these stamps mark a period of cooperation within the first East African Community, which aimed to establish a common market, customs union, and shared services between the member nations before its dissolution in 1977.
