Italian Social Republic Military Mail Stamps

Italy · 1944 · 25c & 50c

This set of two stamps was issued for military mail by the Italian Social Republic. The 25c denomination depicts a dagger and grenade, while the 50c shows a soldier with a rifle. Both designs are framed by fasces, a prominent symbol of Italian Fascism.

Issued during the final stages of World War II by the German puppet state led by Mussolini after the Kingdom of Italy surrendered to the Allies. These stamps were used by military personnel of the Republic of Salò.
