Netherlands Indies Postage Due Stamp

Netherlands Indies · 1908 · 10c

This is a postage due stamp from the Netherlands Indies, issued in 1908. The design is purely typographic, featuring the large numeral '10' centrally to indicate the 10 cents due, surrounded by ornate scrollwork. The text 'NEDERL.-INDIE' appears at the top, and 'TE BETALEN / PORT' (To Be Paid / Postage) is at the bottom.

Issued under Dutch colonial rule, these stamps were used to collect insufficient postage from the recipient of a letter. This series replaced an earlier 1902-1903 issue and was used until the early 1920s.
