This definitive stamp features a Turul, a mythological bird of prey and a national symbol of Hungary, soaring over the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest. The design is framed by the Crown of Saint Stephen at the top and the denomination at the bottom. This series was the first to be printed on paper with a watermark of the Crown of Saint Stephen.
Issued in 1900 as part of a new definitive series for the Kingdom of Hungary within the Austro-Hungarian Empire, these stamps symbolized Hungarian national identity and pride at the turn of the 20th century.
