40th Anniversary of First Hungarian Space Flight Miniature Sheet

Hungary · 2020 · 135 Forint, 135+75 Forint

This miniature sheet commemorates the 40th anniversary of the first Hungarian space flight. It features four stamps depicting key elements of space exploration, including the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, a rocket launch, a satellite orbiting Earth, and the Soyuz-35 return capsule with a cosmonaut. Two of the stamps include a surcharge to support youth stamp collecting.

The stamps mark 40 years since Bertalan Farkas became the first Hungarian cosmonaut to fly into space aboard Soyuz 36 in 1980, as part of the Interkosmos program. This event was a significant milestone in Hungarian and Soviet-era space cooperation.
