Hong Kong · 1938 · 2 Cents
This postage due stamp features a central numeral '2' indicating the two-cent value to be collected upon delivery. The design is framed by ornate scrollwork and includes the text 'HONG KONG' at the top and 'POSTAGE DUE' at the bottom, with Chinese characters for the value flanking the central numeral. The stamp was printed on paper with the 'Multiple Script CA' watermark.
Issued during the reign of King George VI, these stamps were used to collect insufficient postage from the recipient of a letter. This series was the first postage due issue for Hong Kong.
