Hong Kong Queen Elizabeth II Definitive
Hong Kong · 1984 ·
This definitive stamp series features the iconic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin, a design widely used across the Commonwealth. The portrait is set against a solid color background, with the denomination and 'HONG KONG' inscription clearly displayed. This series was the last to feature the Queen's portrait before the handover to China.
Issued following the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration, this stamp series represents the final years of British colonial rule in Hong Kong before its sovereignty was transferred to the People's Republic of China in 1997.
