Ghana 1974 UPU Centenary, Imperforate Set
Ghana · 1974 · 8p, 10p, 20p, 40p
This set of four stamps commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Each stamp features a 'stamp-on-stamp' design, showcasing earlier definitive stamps of Ghana, including the 1952 1/2d stamp with a cocoa farmer, the 1959 2d stamp with a talking drum, the 1965 15p stamp with a kente weaver, and the 1967 20np stamp with a state sword. This is the imperforate version of the set, which was also issued in a perforated format.
Issued to celebrate the centenary of the Universal Postal Union, an international organization established in 1874 to coordinate postal policies among member nations and facilitate the worldwide postal system.
