Denmark 2 Rigsbank Skilling Blue, Thiele Printing

Denmark · 1851 · 2 Rigsbank Skilling

This is Denmark's second postage stamp, featuring a design by M. W. Ferslew. The central motif includes a crown, a post horn, and a sword and sceptre, all enclosed within an oak leaf wreath. The denomination '2 R.B.S.' is inscribed at the bottom, indicating two Rigsbank Skilling.

Issued in 1851 as part of Denmark's first series of postage stamps, this stamp facilitated the prepayment of postage, a new concept at the time. It was printed by H.H. Thiele and is a classic issue from the early days of philately.
