This classic stamp features the Danish coat of arms, consisting of three crowned lions passant accompanied by nine hearts, all enclosed within a crowned shield. The denomination 'FIRE R.B.S.' (4 Rigsbankskilling) is inscribed below, and the stamp is framed by ornate scrollwork. This imperforate issue is printed in a distinct brownish-red color.

Issued in 1851, this was part of Denmark's second series of postage stamps, following the first issue by only a few months. It represents the early period of philately in the Kingdom of Denmark during the reign of King Frederick VII.
