50h on 50h Newspaper Stamp, "Pošta Československá 1919" Overprint
Czechoslovakia · 1927 · 50h on 50h
This is a 1927 newspaper stamp featuring a 50-heller green stamp of the Hradčany (Prague Castle) design, originally intended for Austria. It is distinguished by an inverted black overprint reading "Pošta Československá 1919". This specific variety, with the inverted overprint, is one of the greatest rarities in Czechoslovakian philately.
Following the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918, existing Austrian stamps were overprinted for provisional use. This particular stamp is a rare error from that period, created by incorrectly placing the sheet during the overprinting process.
