This set of five stamps was issued by Cyprus for the 1972 Europa CEPT series. The common design, created by Finnish artist Paavo Huovinen, features an abstract symbol representing a stylized spark or signal radiating from a central point, symbolizing telecommunications and the connection between European nations. Each stamp in the set presents the design in a different vibrant color combination corresponding to its denomination.
