Colombia 1920 10c Blue, SCADTA Airmail

Colombia · 1920 · 10c

This stamp features a Farman F.40 biplane flying over the Magdalena River. It was the first airmail stamp issued by the private airline SCADTA (Sociedad Colombo-Alemana de Transportes Aéreos) for use on its routes within Colombia. The design signifies the dawn of commercial aviation in the country.

Issued in 1920, this stamp represents one of the world's earliest airmail services, established by the pioneering airline SCADTA, which later became Avianca, Colombia's national airline.
