This stamp commemorates the 50th anniversary, or Golden Jubilee, of the Girl Guides movement in Canada. The design features a central trefoil, the international symbol of Guiding and Scouting, flanked by a Brownie on the left and a Girl Guide on the right, representing different age levels of the organization. The stamp was designed by Helen Fitzgerald and engraved by Yves Baril.

Issued on April 20, 1960, this stamp honors the significant role the Girl Guides have played in the development and education of young women in Canada since its establishment in the country in 1910.
