Bolivia 1894 Unissued Pictorial Series

Bolivia · 1894 · Various (1c to 5b)

This is a complete set of ten pictorial stamps prepared for Bolivia in 1894 by the American Bank Note Company. The designs feature various Bolivian scenes, including landscapes, architecture, and boats, with the highest value depicting the national coat of arms. Although fully prepared, this series was never officially issued for postal use.

These stamps were intended to be Bolivia's first pictorial definitive series, but for reasons that are not entirely clear, the government chose not to release them. They are known to philatelists as the 'unissued' or 'Seebeck' issue of 1894.
