Termonde Inverted Center
Belgium · 1920 · 65c
This stamp features the town hall of Termonde (Dendermonde) in a central vignette, framed by an ornate design. It is famous for being an error stamp where the central image was printed upside down relative to the frame. The stamp was part of a series intended to raise funds for post-war reconstruction.
Issued after World War I, this stamp was part of a charity series to aid reconstruction. The error occurred on only a few sheets, making it one of the most famous and sought-after rarities in Belgian philately.
