40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Bangladesh and Japan

This commemorative stamp celebrates the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and Japan. The design features the national flags of both countries, along with their national flowers (the water lily for Bangladesh and the cherry blossom for Japan) and national birds (the oriental magpie-robin and the green pheasant). A Royal Bengal Tiger, a symbol of Bangladesh, is also depicted.

Issued in 2012, this stamp marks four decades of friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan, which began shortly after Bangladesh's independence in 1971.
