This definitive series features the coat of arms of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which includes an arm holding a scimitar, set within an ornate frame. The design is bicolored, with the central vignette printed in black and the frame in various colors to denote the different denominations, which range from Heller to Kronen values.

Issued under Austro-Hungarian administration, these were the first stamps specifically for Bosnia and Herzegovina that did not feature the portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I, instead opting for a regional heraldic symbol.
